Hey,

The Spitfire is running pretty well this season. I have had some big problems with understeer, lately not so much of a problem.

Question: can you effectively bias grip and traction with race slicks similar to tweaking tire pressures on FWD stockers?

My car is optimized for tire temps running 18 psi at all four corners: This psi gives consistent temps across all 4 tires.

Can I raise, (Or lower) the rear tire temps to (Slightly) reduce grip and Understeer? If yes, which direction, higher or lower, is most effective?

TIA,

Rog

What I've been taught is yes. Raise rear pressure to loosen, oversteer and lower to add grip, understeer. Works both ends. I do that with the Miata.

Raising tire pressures will loosen up which ever end you do it on. Slicks seem to take less of a change than street tires so I would start with 1/2 Lb increments.
