I just installed a Corbeau that's made to handle a 5 point harness. I have an old Simpson harness but really don't want to use it. The car is 99% street so it's not worth it for all the numerous reasons. I intend to autox it and track days it once in a blue moon. It's gutted but no cage/roll bar.

So I'm wondering if I can use the oem belt. Do you just wrap it over the seat or does it need to be laced through 3 of the seat holes?

I have a Sparco EVO II seat in a street legal car. I use the stock belt for autocross since I do not have a rollbar installed. However, I use the lap belt portion of a 5-point harness to secure me in the seat.

Since you have a harness, try using just the lap belt for autocross.

Someone else needs to chime in on a track day inspection. I haven't done one of those since '94.

The Oem belt over the top will not fit very well, allowing you to slide around. It will also rip up the fabric on the seats from the wear.

Ok, my seat took 3 1/2 months! to arrive so I'm looking for a temporary solution in case the belts take too long to arrive before the July run. I'll do the two point lap version. Thanks.
