Two reasons Z4 is not on the list: I have had a TON of BMWs and just sold one, want to do something else for a while, and also there are no off-the-shelf aftermarket roll bars for them (would have to go full custom).

Stupid idea but e46 m3 vert with bolt in rollbar? Better value, better motor, and more spacious than all the other options posted. Also quicker laptimes and much more rubber under the fenders if that's important to you.

We gotta lay off the BMW talk for a while-- he'll get his Honda fix and then BAM we'll get him back into the cult
pointofdeparture: Not trying to press the point, but just as an FYI, Z4 comes with a rollbar, or is it just not high enough for you at 6'3"?

Heh. I was at cisco for 14 years, have been at another networking company in Santa Clara for a decade now. :)

I'm not huge on the Z4 in general because they have kind of goofy ergonomics, but the factory hoops do seem to be kind of insufficient in the same way that the S2000's are.
The later Boxsters are just about the only convertibles I've sat in where the hoops actually seem like they could protect my noggin.
