Look for a few sunny days in the forecast.  Take out the back cushions (they basically hook in place and the backs have two or four bolts) and pull the front seats out.  Soak them all down with a bottle of upholstery cleaner... or shout, or spot shot, or laundry detergent mixed with water... whatever.

Fire up the pressure washer and get as close to an orgasm without nudity that you can get as you watch the decades of farts, stains, grape juice, boogers, and french fry oil just vaporize.  That is, of course, unless you choose to do this naked which is not recommended with a pressure washer.

I did this with a 98 F150 and a 40 degree nozzle on a 3600 psi pressure washer.  They came out looking brand new.

But really... dry, sunny days are a must.  In TX where I did mine, I had three days of 80 degrees and dry, and it wasn't perfectly dry when I put it back in, but dry enough.

If it's a dry sunny day then I'll probably be working or needing to drive it lol

Not bad for a steam cleaner, scrub brush, and a mixture of vinegar gain palmolive water.

Welp after 6k miles this car has served its purpose. I hardly drive it at all anymore because of better more kid friendly options. Ready to sell it to its next owner looking for a bland dd.

Neighbor of mine needs to provide a dd for his daughter in law... we’ve talked about fixing one of mine, but that would’ve perfect. How much to a good home?

My parents have a 2001 with less than 100k on it. Every time I drive it I'm struck by what a nice basic car it is.

For years I've thought the 2002 Accord MT is the perfect car.  I've been looking for a low mileage one for years.  They don't seem to exist.

Got 2! Lol

I just prefer to drive them in the other Accord because it's safer and fits the carseat way easier/better.

That car is about as bland as they come. the goal would be to buy a car you would have zero desire to modify.

I might be able to beat it. My Son keeps spending money on dumb cars, so I told him I'm going to find him a car that is not good at anything other than being a car. He can just use it as a car, and will have zero desire to modify it at all. I just picked it up an hour ago. 1998 Corolla, beige on beige, with crank windows. 1 owner with 51k miles. All in at $2500. I figure it''ll be pretty much free to own for years.

Be sure not to tell him you can buy koni yellows for it. At least its an automatic right?

Also they were pretty fly at autocross back in the day.

One of the very few things i wish my Toyota Echo was (I already like it a lot) is a ~03 Corolla in beige/gold with base everything other than a 2zz/6spd swap. Like an XRS but even sleepier.

This Accord is pretty solid for ~$1500!! Actually, i may have a buyer...

I always thought these were attractive. Much more so than the next generation anyway. My dad had a V6 manual and it was a riot. How it sits it's a car and it should do a great job of car. These are the cars that make people simultaneously love Honda and hate the act of driving.

Yes, when I went looking for a DD years ago I was excited to get an Accord until I realized that the style I wanted (what yupididit bought) was not the newest model. :( I bought an '05 anyway but always wished it was one of the older ones. Just the right size, looked better

This wouldn't have worked for me. I'd have immediately looked into shocks, sways, and sticky tires. Because I'm pathologically demand avoidant, I probably would've tried to make it do stupid things just because my dad told me not too.

I missed this thread the first time around, but around the same time I also bought a beige sedan. First dd that I haven't bought the cheapest parts for.

I didn't expect it to get any attention, but at the store an old lady stopped to tell me how she used to have one and some pre-teen kids near my office wanted to check it out.
