Oh yeah, I forgot that I have a mostly complete SHO 3.0L that supposedly only has 70K miles on it. I need a harness, injectors, and a flywheel to make it a complete motor. What do you about adapting the w58 to the SHO. And yes I know that violates one of my primary requirements but I do already have both...
SHO to w58 now you would have to get a adapter plate made why not go with a ranger or aerostar 5 spd tranny that will bolt right up and are cheap. just because you own these pieces doesnt make it cheap to install,
.the car you want to do this too is very cool why do you need 300hp or even 200hp its a wagon and a cool wagon at that. i would do a old school toyota swap in it and call it day.
The issue with the trans that bolt up is that they are either rare (Aerostar) or weak (ranger)

This will be a street car with some corner carving. That is about it.
I want something with fuel injection, decent power (realistically 200 hp is plenty), cheap (motor has to be able to found for under 1k), a decently easily attached RWD manual that is also cheap (I have a w58 sitting in my garage that needs a home), needs some torque (even though the silver top is super sexy), and I want it to be at least somewhat unique (no 16v 4age in other words, a turbo 3tc is interesting though).
3RZ and since the turbo has been doneMANY, MANY times before.... find yourself a TRD supercharger...
OR if you are really on the unique/cheap... get an eaton from the boneyard and build a manifold.
The 1983 models have rack and pinion steering... this is FAR SUPERIOR to the 80-82 worm and roller. If you can't get a 1983, get a cross member from either a 1983 E7, or get the crossmember from an AE86 (SR5 or GT-S) and fit a rack and pinion steering gear
Well, I just got back from looking at the corolla. Yeah, its a no go. I have seen worse but there is some serious cancer.
