Since I can't find any rebuild kits for diy outer halfshaft refurbish whats the best boot kit for a miata?. I stuck a new one from the auto parts on after cleaning and repacking and due to the angle I'm using it on the boot won't stay put on the hub.The one I used did not fit very well on the hub as it was much bigger,I'd like a nice flexable boot that tightly fits the hub to minimize it popping off. Any preferences?.

Best? OEM Mazda.

Adequate? Whatever fits.

I am not sure about your costs to do this where you live, but up here (Edmonton) I looked into replacing the boots on my wife's Focus. I needed both inners and outers, and they were $24 each ($48 per side). For $65 (plus a $40 core charge) I could get a new-in-box refurbished axle. Considering the amount of work (and mess... moly grease does not come off) to replace both boots, the extra $20 per side was more than worth it to just replace the axle. Look into a rebuilt one from the best local parts store you have, it may not be worth it to do the boot.

I only used part of the oem shaft and the outer cv as a driveshaft so thats why I'm looking to do just the boot.
