I know RockAuto.com is an advertiser, so they're getting a shot. Doing the same at Napa.com and Autozone.com. Goal here is shadetree repair of a bunch of little deferred-maintenance type things (EGR valve, O2 sensor, etc...) on our 10-year-old family truckster. I recently ponied up the bucks to rebuild the transmission in this car, so I'm in it for at least another couple of years- hence I need to address the little annoying crap or I'll go crazy looking at the yellow "service engine soon" light. Fuel economy is sucking right now, too, the ancient sparkplugs can't be helping.
Who does a good job? Autozone seems right in line with rockauto- attraction with both of those is the web storefront and that I can pick out what I want in my living room. Free shipping with autozone, but I'll wind up paying local sales tax that washes most of that advantage out. Napa? Their web front sucks, but maybe the greasy old parts monkey is what I need?

I like RockAuto. Some here have reported problems with them, but I'm not one of those people; I haven't had any problems with anything I've bought from them.
Rockauto is rock solid as far as I'm concerned.
I've had nothing but success with Rockauto, but I prefer my local NAPA store. It helps that they also give me the wholesale hook-up price (Its legit, my company has a fleet account).
RockAuto for me. Much more diverse selection than the big box stores, typically the lowest prices, and quick shipping. No issues so far with any order I've placed with them.
I would and do recommend them every chance I get.

Rock Auto does a good job, but their price including shipping (especially on a large order coming from all over the place) tends to be higher than I can get locally. NAPA usually can throw you a discount.
My favorite online retailer, even for normal car replacement stuff, is Summit Racing. They've been cheaper than Rock Auto the last four orders for me, and have just as large of a selection (at least of stuff I need, including obscure AMC stuff).
I'm in the RockAuto camp. Thing I like about them is I can choose who I get the part from. For instance, I've had good luck (so far) with Centric brake parts. So I have the choice to pay a couple bucks more and get those parts.
Other thing I like about them- a couple of times there has been a problem with my order - like something I ordered wasn't available or would take longer to ship than the site said it would. In several cases I've gotten a phone call from a human being here in the United States. That's pretty rare in the on line arena. Only other places I can think of that have done that are TireRack and Summit. Plus one on Summit, by the way. They've treated me really well on a couple of tricky orders. When I told them I was ordering Koni shocks listed for a Mustang to put on a Celica, they didn't even flinch.
Depends on what I am buying to whom gets my money. Unless it's on a closeout or something on RockAuto, I'm buying from the local Napa or Carquest. Most of the time I don't have the time to wait for the Brown Bomb to arrive.
Another for RockAuto . . . shipping price is dubious, but it gets here fast
It doesn't hurt to have a CarQuest Warehouse <4 miles away . . .
I use RockAuto but I also cross shop with Autopartswharehouse, drivewire, ultrarev and Advanced then go with who ever is cheaper.

I got some brakes (4 rotors, 2 pad sets) there a couple years ago--price was similar to Rockauto, but shipping was less.
