Any advice on the best way to clean up chassis ground connections? What works best; sand paper/emery cloth, CRC electrical contact cleaner, baking soda and water, other??? Thanks in advance for your input.

I just sand them until clean and shiny with whatever is handy

I have a cordless Dremel Brand Moto Tool that I put a wire wheel in. Works great. Otherwise, whatever sand paper is handy.

Clean grounds is a two step process. One is the cleaning, the other is the keeping clean. Vaseline makes a dandy protectant.

Sand until shiny. Assemble. Apply Vaseline liberally. If you live in the rustbelt repeat as required if you don't want to chase phantom electrical issues, or just wait until you do and then look for another solid piece of metal to attach the ground to.

K-Y Jelly
See there is another use for it.

Instead of K-Y, I use dielectric grease. It allows electrical continuity better than most.

KY is water soluable, and might be water based, I forget. I'm not sure that's the best thing for protecting the connection. I use dielectric grease if I have any, otherwise wheel bearing grease.
