From a reliability perspective. Seems like the 4cyl models are a bit more robust, ya?
I had a '98 V6 w/ huffer. no compaints ever. except that I sold it.
2.7 motor is bullet proof - I think my ex had 200,000miles on hers. Year shouldn't matter.
I have an '01 Extra-cab -Prerunner-SR5- 3.4 V6 - 2WD - auto w/ about 130k.
It's very well made, very, very easy to work on, and rock solid.
I've replaced an o2 sensor, done brakes and replaced shocks/struts.
It developed a suspension klunk/rattle that needs to be sorted, but it gets the race car+trailer+gear+2 of us to the races every time.
The V6 is an anvil of a motor, but a bit thirsty.
