I worked the course at Gate 43, about halfway down US-285.
Nice mix of vehicles:
My old boss used to run his Z06 there - I wonder if he ran this year.
Good excuse to go through those links.
Then there's this:
Here's the video of a 160-MPH tire failure (at about 00:35) on the Camaro. No one hurt.

I'm in the video, under a blue shade on the right at about 00-14. I didn't see the failure, too much terrain in the way-
Sure looks like it says MPH on the top. The factory Corvette Speedo lights up in a different location if it's showing KPH. It's not right above the flags like that.
Big Bend is pretty desolate area. Even moving that fast, it doesn't seem appear that you are going that quick.

Well, I was there, and they were hauling. The Camaro passed me about 20 seconds before the tire went. Here's my video, shot with a fair amount of zoom:

Car #100 ('10 Camaro) and car #68 ('09 Vette) were indeed in the 150MPH class (Target Speed). #68 finished the leg with an average speed over 59 miles of 149.133MPH, according to the preliminary timing results. Car #100 had done the first leg at an average speed of 145.628MPH. On the straight they entered as they passed me, they would have been trying to make up time.
