Usually I just say BMW.
But occasionally when trying to get my wife to go with me I'd say "let's go for a ride in tha beemah" in the most terrible Boston accent you can imagine.

Although I understand that the 'correct' way is use bimmer for the cars, if I had to use bimmer/beemer, I would say beemer, but I would just refer to the cars or the bikes as BMWs.
How about, we broaden this discussion? I don't like it when people use 'Merc' as a short for Mercedes. I usually picture an old lead sled when I hear 'Merc' thinking they are talking about a Mercury. Why can't they be refered to as Benz?
I just call it "the e30" "a 2002" "an e21" or "an e36"
Any BMW with a chassis code later than e36, I don't speak of it at all (but if I did, I'd just say "BMW") :D
I greatly dislike "Bimmer" and "Beamer" alike. They just sound douchey.
Nobody calls an AMC an "Ammer"

I'm 58, Canadian and car based, and Bimmer is mine.
Discuss.
It's spelled Bimmer, but since it is German, it's pronounced with a long E.
This is actually relevant to my interests, because I got my last name from a mispronounciation. Grandfather's family were Austrian, his father was born in Vienna, they emigrated in the very late 1800s. When grandpa was born (on November 11 1921, which is kind of a significant date..) and getting his birth certificate paperwork filled out, they were asked to spell his last name. R-I-M-N-E-R. Except, he pronounced that I as you would in German, and I guess it is easier to live life with a different name than get a birth certificate fixed.
There are something like 70 people with my last name. Only two of them are related to me.
My grandmother's birth certificate said "Reta" and not "Rita", too, although they were Polish. I don't know how to say the alpabet in Polish, just some important swear words.
