Is there a huge performance difference between the 323 and 325 models? Looking at the e46 platform.
The E46 323i was a 2.5L M52. The 323 number was to make it seem like the 328 was a big upgrade.
The performance difference is small between it and the 2001 325i - I think it is 179 to 184HP (in the US).
The post-facelift 325i has the 2.5l M54 and kinda split the difference between the pre-facelift 323i and 328i. In HP it's more like 170 to 184, but the torque is actually down slightly.
Neither of them are real barnburners, but neither of them is what I would call SLOW, either. My daily for the last 6 years has been a 2003 325i.
