So after more than a year of looking for a new toy, I ended up with a new daily driver.  Several board members recommended them in fact.  Even though I've stayed away from BMWs for a while now, I ended up with a 128i.  Initially I wanted a 135, but after driving one, it seemed more maintenance friendly and was in fact a lot of fun.  Decent power, OK mpg, and just a nice car.  No pictures yet, but its black on black.  Not sure what I'm doing with the R56 yet, but maybe a bit of track time and autocrossing since I have retired it from daily duties.

Getting to be quite the little E82 community here - at least three people, myself included, have bought one within the last year. What sort of options did you end up with on yours?

Thanks!  It has the sports and cold weather packages...but no nav.  I did go with an automatic since it is just a daily, and my wife can drive it.  Given the construction traffic I go through everyday I'm enjoying not shifting gears.  It's a fun car and about the perfect size.

Sport or M-Sport package is a necessity on these cars for the seats alone, IMO. Lack of nav is a plus; normal controls for everything in the stack. Not a fan of the auto box, but that's personal preference. They're really fun little cars.
