apparently i have to do this as my glovebox latch doesnt seem to release the door... and yes. it is unlocked..... anyone have a good trick to get in there that wont destroy the door?

You can unscrew the hinge from underneath to gain access to the latch. Then you need to manipulate the latching mechanism from inside to get it to open.

I've done it before, but it's fairly tricky and involves a good bit of cursing and fiddling.

It happened to me once; I tried unscrewing the hinge but had no luck at it. I finally had to drill out the lock. No matter how you get it open, there's a replacement latch available with no lock in it that is quite a bit cheaper than an OEM style with the lock.

Yeah, mine jammed and there was no way to get it open without breaking it. I bought a replacement latch from Pelican pretty cheap.

Just break the handle off, then manipulate the mechanism with a piece of wire. Buy a replacement handle, and swap out your lock cylinder. I did mine this week, fairly easy.
