Last Friday I picked up a 996 c2. I have always wanted a 911 and this is one I can afford. After a week if ownershi I decided it needed some breaking in. Driving it well is taking some getting used to, but it sure is fun.

Damn you people... Vipers, 911's.... You're going to make me sell this Insight and get something infinitely more fun and gas guzzling at this rate.
These cars do need a bit of a suspension work to shine on a racetrack but once you get some springs/dampers/sways that are a bit less tailored to the sort of folks who valet park them as a primary goal... they are excellent.
Of course... if you are just going to mow all the cones over anyway you can save a lot of money and just aim for them
I'm looking to run A street next season so shocks and sway bar will in order. I'm not sure which ones to get though. Any suggestions?

I'm sure there is a foreshortening affect due to the camera lens ... if not ... that next gate looks like it's gonna be a bear to get through LOL
I was hoping to see this, versus "someone else" broke in my new car yesterday. Looks like a good time was had!
I would love to have a Porsche as a weekend beater. Alas, reality intrudes.
Congrats! It does look like a lot of fun.
I now know its a camera, but at fist glance, the go pro stuck to the drivers side pillar looked like you were giving a thumbs up out the window as youre caboose stepped out...which woulda be pretty awesome. Still, looks like it should be a solid candidate for IHROTM
Year?
Engine (3.4 or 3.6?)?
Number of times engine has alread been replaced as everyone in internet land knows every 996 engine is a time bomb
GReat car, congrats. I'm working on the testicular fortitude to purchase a used modern Porsche in a few years rather than another mustang.
It's a 99 3.4. Only option is sport seats. It has 91 kms and is on its original engine and Ims bearing. It did have the rms replaced at 60kms.
How would someone submit their car for irhrotm consideration?
In reply to mw:
Send a high-res version of the the picture to David at GRM. If it was taken by a pro photog, get their contact information and/or approval for the pic to be used in a magazine. I think there was a thread around here about how to do that, I'll have to see if I can find it.
That is an awesome shot and good on ya for taking the car out for some fun!
Here's a thread on submitting your car for the mag:
