It is season 1 of our Sunday Driver race series. Because of numerous requests, our (un)official GRM PS3 GT6 racing league has expanded to include a Sunday evening race series. All you need is a Playstation 3 and a copy of GT6.
Our Wednesday race series has been going strong for more than 15 seasons. Not everyone can make it on Wednesday nights and some would like a series where they can be an online racing rookie in a safe, practice race series. That is what the Sunday series is for.
If you haven't raced online before, or you have, and got frustrated by all the wrecking, come race with a group of like-minded GRM'ers who follow real racing etiquette. Practice your race craft. In this first Sunday series we will be racing Showroom Stock BRZ and FR-S cars. They are an easy and fun car to drive.
Head here for all the series information and how to join: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/simulation-central/grm-gran-turismo-6-racing-league-series-2/82868/page1/
Of course, you are welcome to join our regular Wednesday series as well. The new season starts in two weeks with practice runs this coming week. It's a great time to come and join in the racing!
For those that want to joint the GT6 Sunday night racing series friend request myself (GRM id is the same as my PS3 id) and / or Argo. I will be hosting and Argo is the Chief Stuart for the Sunday night series.
The format is similar to the Wednesday night series with an emphasis on learning and gaining experience in race conditions. It lets you get your feet wet before you get tossed to the sharks in the Wednesday night series. We will be running the same tracks as the Wednesday series the Sunday before so people that are running the Wednesday night series can also join in and get some track time as well.
The intent is to practice wheel to wheel racing and have fun. We are using slower cars that promote close racing so people get comfortable running in close proximity to other cars in race conditions (a lot different than just running laps) Passing adequate is spelled out in the first post of the season 2 GT6 thread that Argo posted a link to.
AND braking news. We may continue the MX5 spec Miata series from the GRM GT6 Season 1 on Sunday nights after the BRZ races. These cars were a lot of fun last season. See the rules in the GT6 season 1 thread for cars and tuning rules. Stay tuned!!!!
