Which track would you choose to drive and why? I'd probably go with Spa Francorchamps mostly because of the prestige behind the track (not saying Nurburgring is not famous or anything) and the two corner combo that seems to be the best in the world.

Spa hands down.

But Mugello is at the top of my Euro-tracks-that-I-may-never-drive list. Spa is #2.

They're only two hours apart... why choose one? In fact I think there are some track days that run them back-to-back?

Money can be an issue.

Do you have your own car over there? Or are you going to fly to the continent, and then gallavant?

For me personally, I am going to fly over there then rent a race car.

I would go with Spa because it's more fun and less dangerous. You can remember all of Spa's corners. It has runoff room in most places. The scariest corner on Spa, Raidillon, is less scary than the top 10 scariest corners on the Nurburgring.

so, doing some digging, it looks like Spa has "public driving days" that are run for 25mins sessions costing 100Euros
without the car rental. And there's only 7 days total per year, with 4 left this year.

There doesn't seem to be as much of a "rental system" around Spa, as yet... so RSRSpa is the only one I can find prices for... and they start at ~700 euros for 25 laps. linkage. I don't know how long a lap of Spa is in a Scirocco.

I've seen Rent4Ring head up to Spa before, but I don't see anything about it on their site right now (and searching FB is not something I want to do).

In comparison, a Rent4Ring rental starts around 200 Euros for two laps of the 'Ring, which for your first laps will probably be around 25mins. There are a lot of other companies to rent from, but this is a good starting point to gauge prices. With laps costing 25/30 Euros per lap {BtG linkage}. And there are a lot more days that are open to TF at the Nurburgring.

Now, getting out to the 'Ring is best done with a regular rental... 'cause otherwise I think it's like two trains and a bus from FRA. I have no idea how easy it is to get to Spa via public transit.

Then again, if you've got a race license... this might be a cheap {and entertaining} way to get a bunch of laps at Spa?

Nurburgring because its just so intense and it was worth every penny.

I doubt your 1st two laps will be 25. I made it around in 10:30 about every time. but I was in a 320hp BMW M235i
