Driving into work this morning, I was trying out the latest iteration of heads-up display for the Little Lamb-o, this time connected to a thermal imaging camera swiped from a Caddy Deville. The point of this post is to describe the psychedelic experience of viewing the rising sun through the thermal IR camera. I swear it looked just like one of those music visualizations on the computer media players with a ball flinging of rings of lightning bolts and stuff through the camera. I went back out to the car with a handheld digital camera after I got to work to try to capture the phenomenon to share, but the sun was too high in the sky to get the nose of the car pointed at it again.

Strangely, I can't find this phenomenon described with a simple google search.

Or maybe someone laced my toothpaste with acid.

I'll try tonight again with the setting sun, dangit, I know what I saw!
