Why whatever do you mean, Tom?
I'll be at the Mitty this year (I finally managed to not break my leg a week before the event)! I'll be rocking my e30 (got my math grade up!!!), so look for me with it or on my longboard close by.

Dont know if i should set up in 10a/b or over near turn 3.... Brad and Jay, where will you guys be???Count me in for a Turn 3 Camper. You will hear me coming by the sound of the fury emanating from my motorscoot!
Yeah, one second, you are riding along in drunken comfort. Next moment you are laying on your side with a golf cart and a person on top of you...

Unfortunately, skipping it this year. I've got severance until Dec., but just can't justify spending anything until I've got another job lined up.
Oh, and I interviewed for a place I really want to work (they like me!), but I'd have to go back to working weekends to get my foot in the door. Harumph.

that sucks. Well, if your mind changes, just look for the 2 big Revo EZ ups and the ZAV and a drunk idiot. Well, not that drunk, but alittle....

You're a smart guy. I bet you can figure out how to get in for free. I'll supply the drinks.

I guess I shouldn't admit this but road atlanta is two and a half miles around when I was in highschool I snuck into that mug twice a month.

Thanks for all the offers of help, folks! I was about to take everyone up on it, but we've had another development..we finally ditched our boarder! It's a nice quiet life again, but that also means we've lost our babysitter. Heck, I might just bring him with me, but I haven't had a chance to ask her yet (works overnites, still asleep). We may make this thing happen after all..
It's weird..in the past, when I was broke, I'd just come work Corners-but in the last couple of years, the party atmosphere at the Mitty's kinda turned it into the one weekend a year us older guys would rather animalize (that's Corner Worker-ese for "spectate") than work just because it's so much fun. I think the magazines are responsible for a lot of that!
EDIT: Doh! Brining the kid, I mean..not the ex-boarder.

Hopefully I don't fall under the "older guy" heading just yet, but yeah. The one weekend at the track where there's no rushing around, no wrenching, no rolling around in the dirt (while conscious and alert anyway,) just booze & buds...and sunburns...and rain...oh, and I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be some racing going on or some E36 M3.

I meant the some of the long-term Corner Workers, but yeah, you hit the nail right on the head. There's just so much goodness going on that it's nice to take a break from being involved in the competition and just enjoying that you're part of the sport. Besides, if I'd been working a turn, I never would have met Peter Brock. Or Bob Tullius and all those great Club racers. Or been able to open my first beer at 1130am.
Waiting patiently at the gates... Knew I should have added queried further when I was told that the gates were already open.
Taco Joint in place top of the hill vendors row,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Winners Circle set up nicely across from the GRM tent ))))))))))))))))) Aussie MG in camp grounds
