So my good friend Mike is having some trouble tracking down a bolt for his 2002 Vue. Just got done rebuilding the front end, and it needs new wheel hubs up front. The problem is we can't find a part number for the hub bolts.

The dealership has an exploded picture, but it doesn't have the part number for the hub bolts. Maybe one of the Vue guys knows?

2002 is the first year, and one of only 2 years before it became a shared platform for the Pontiac Torrent and Equinox, so those aren't much help, at least from what he has said. Maybe it's the same hub up front?

2.2 ecotec with the 5 speed if that helps.

Do you mean the lug studs or the nut that holds the hub on? I can't find a part called "Hub bolt".

A bit. At least with the threading we can hunt better. I guess it's a flange bolt of some sort, I'm thinking McMaster-Carr will be getting a call shortly.

Man, you're all kinds of helpful.

The bolt that holds the hub on. I'm working via text message right now. Dorman may even have them, he was saying all they made were for 04+, but it looks like the whole knuckle/hub assembly is the same between the generations, so I expect the parts to interchange.

It should be just a generic flanged Grade 8.8 bolt. I am thinking that it is a 12x1.75 but it might be 10x1.5.

I'm pretty sure it never shared a platform with the Torrent/Equinox, those look way different mechanically. I've done a few engines in Honda-engined VUEs and those were all post-04, and they looked just like the '02s I worked on at the dealership.

Also, anecdotal evidence suggests that Honda reliability is at least partially due to owner type. I've never had to replace a Honda V6 in an actual Honda, just Saturns...
