A few minutes ago we got this notice from our printer:
< Canada Post is on strike. Services were suspended Tuesday night. The attached PDF is an update on the strike.
Publishers Printing Company's shipping departments have been instructed (as of 8 a.m. this morning) to hold all Canada mail unless otherwise instructed. >
We're not sure yet how this will affect our Canadian subscribers, but we're exploring different options to ensure that you'll still get the number of issues you paid for.
Hopefully it's resolved soon and it's not even a issue, and Canadians will still get their issues on time (which means several weeks after the US subscribers, but such are the realities of international media mail).
In the meantime, feel free to enjoy the website and the many things it has to offer. My heritage allows me to offer my services as a Canadian/English translator should the need arise.

I'm not sure I'd know if any postal service went on strike.
I read where the USPS had just figured out that most companies don't use the mail for advertising any more. They are going to work on a plan to win them back. Man, they are really on the ball!

Eh, ya caught me. The two years of French I took in high school was a long, long time ago. I used a translator to try to make the joke.
I volunteer to deliver to the Niagara Falls area. I am in the mood for some Maple-Leaf Cookies anyway.

No road trip we just need to get those 19 Magazines from Florida to Detroit so we can get them to the 18 Canadian subscribers. And the 1 news stand.
You'd be surprised. We actually have a TON of readers in Canada. Them folks are wacky bout the motorsports!
Canadians are generally pretty thin, so you know a ton is a lot of subscribers.
Yes, we have twelve Canadian subscribers.
We also have a TON of subscribers from Louisiana = 4 people.
During long cold winters GRM makes good reading.
I'm headed to Quebec on my honeymoon in a few weeks, I can drop them all off

How many of us from FL?
yeah this is interesting. how many are actually IN dc?
Those are imaginary numbers; Joe was being sarcastic. There are more than 4 in Louisiana.
I can't speak to the magazine distribution, but the site visits are another story. Here's the top 10 countries in terms of unique visitors for the last 30 days-
- United States 226,225
- Canada 15,013
- United Kingdom 5,532
- Australia 3,849
- Germany 1,809
- France 1,472
- Mexico 1,232
- Italy 1,228
- India 1,173
- Netherlands 1,166

You're welcome to come and visit us, so long as you bring your locost with you.
Thanks JG and Tom for acknowledging the strike. Honestly, I wouldn't care if it weren't for GRM.
I'll be grabbing the issues off newsstands until the strike ends. If I end up with double issues, I'll just leave the extras in my in-law's bathroom - there's never anything to read in there.

Okay, now I'm gonna derail the thread for half a minute..(cuz, like, it's what I do).
Worked the Chase the Dragon Hillclimb last weekend. 3rd overall was a Finnish guy in a Locost that (IIRC) had a turbo Miata motor fitted.

All my buddies (this was an SCCA event, remember? Gearheads one and all.) pronounced it "Locust" (like the bug), while I kept pronouncing it "low-cost" (which I thougt was the pun in the name of the car!).
Just wondering what the folks that own one say..
