Hey guys,
I finally got around to installing a working stereo in my 89 Delica. I was looking for an old school 80's vintage unit that would look at home in the van, but decided instead on a modern stereo. I found a decent Pioneer double din unit that wasn't expensive on eBay, and decided to pull the trigger. It even has Bluetooth playback, and phone call capabilities. I even wired it up all by myself which even though I'm an electrician car audio has never been anything I monkey with or heck even care about.
Now I am a real luddite when it come to such things, but I figured out for the most part how the bluetooth works. I tried this afternoon to play with the USB playback. I did so by using a spare thumb drive I had laying around.I dragged, and dropped music from my computer to a file I created on the thumb drive. It seemed to be working, but when I installed the drive in the stereo it only played maybe 10-12 songs on it, and nothing else. Did I do something wrong? DO I need to create the file in a certain way? Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI my computer is a Mac, and I am not really well versed in the was of computers either.
Thanks,
Chris
Make sure the thumb drive is formatted for FAT32. That is usually the issue. Also you can't use Itunes to manage it.
I didn't use iTunes, but my guess is somehow it has something to do with it somehow. How do I check the flash drive for the format? Remember I'm not terrible proficient at computer stuff.
Per the net:
Click apple.
Slected "About Mac".
Select the system profile.
Click to select the USB storage device in the left panel.
Choose the USB drive from the top center of the screen.
View the File System in the bottom pane.
If the File System is not FAT32, follow the instructions below to format your USB storage device to FAT32.
Reformatting instructions for Mac OS:
Connect the USB storage device to the computer.
Open Disk Utility.
Click to select the USB storage device in the left panel.
Click to change to the Erase tab.
In the "Volume Format:" selection box, click "MS-DOS File System".
Click "Erase" button.
At the confirmation dialog, click the "Erase" button.
Close the Disk Utility window.
Also, are your files mp3, aac, a mix? Depending on the stereo, it might not support all formats.
Probably a mix is my guess. I didn't use iTunes to load them, but rather a list of music on the computer, but my guess is they are all iTunes files somehow. I say that because it is the only music using program on the computer as far as I know. I really have no idea what I'm doing.

I have most of my music collection (which is not very large) on my computer. All of it was pulled off of my CDs in my PS3 years ago and the transferred with an SD card. Some are recognized as albums. A lot are not. All of the ones that are not are in an album called Unknown Album. I'm pretty sure all of these are in WAV form. I'd like to convert everything to MP3 so I can play it in my car on a USB.
Is there an easy way?
Seems like it's going to take me months of going through each individual song and trying to put albums back together. I have no idea what I'm doing and the way I'm doing it is extremely tedious and I just don't have the patience for it. I need an easy button.
