I'm sorry for the duplicate post but I tried searching and couldn't find the previous thread. I might be interested in shipping a car from Pensacola to Missouri. Any recommended services?

I clicked that link for curiousity. Read the whole website. And still don't know if it's a joke, real, or if hot chicks come get your car. I'm confused and excited.
I bought a car in MD two weeks ago and the seller dropped it off at the truckers terminal on the 17th and as near as I can tell it is still sitting there. It is shipping to MA. I used DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) with an open trailer as they were recommended by a few different people. Thus far I have not been impressed, I didn't expect it to get here over night but figured they must have at least a truck or two travelling up and down the east coast and within a few days the car would be moving. The one bit of correspondence I have received stated that the ETA arrival date is 10/31 but that it is "not an absolute". I opted for terminal to terminal as it seemed more convenient for both the seller and myself that we could drop off and pick up the car at our convenience as opposed to waiting all day hoping for a truck to show up at the local shopping center, it was only $60 more. I figured it would also be a little quicker and cheaper to go the terminal route but I was wrong on both counts. DAS says they have a tracking service but it has not worked since they took my car. I had signed up on UShip and they showed decent prices but when I decided that I was ready all the outfits that replied were wanting about double what the quote said I should expect to pay. I was also not able to find a way to call and speak to anyone they represented, so that helped push me to DAS. I may have been naïve to think that the car would arrive in a week, but it is only 7 hours away on a heavily travelled area. I will be calling them tomorrow to see what the status is, hopefully will be getting good news. My advise would be don't expect much from any of them, don't be in a hurry and try and talk to someone on the phone and find out what their timetable is, what the rules are and any other concerns you have. One of the other issues we had was the seller was throwing in a spare set of wheels and the original stereo and they would not allow him to send those with the car as they were loose. It could be that where I am shipping an inexpensive car on a cheap truck I don't get much service. One of the options I had was for close to $900 for an enclosed trailer but that was almost half the cost of the car. If you have a high end car the better trailer may get you better service. Hope you have a better experience, good luck. If I had known how long it was going to take them, I could have walked down to MD and driven the car home by now.

I know it looks pretty darn cheesy but I've known 4 people who have used them with no issues and recommends them. But, they're brokers so maybe ymmv...
I've shipped a car from VA to CA with no issues. And from WA to CA also no issues. But, I never went through uship or a broker. Went directly to the company, which is more expensive but works out that they're more responsive and reliable. I know of a guy who owns a small transportation business, he's a gearhead (starion/conquest), based out of Louisiana. 225-678-6584 his name is Paul Dodson.
How can recommendations be made when pretty much every service is a broker and it's a lucky-dip as to who actually ends up moving the car? Then you throw in the variables of weather and construction and accidents...there's a lot of faith involved in having a car moved on a budget.
That said, I used Montway and everything went fine.
