Lotus Elise tops my list.
Classic 911
Range Rover Classic
Saab 9-3 Viggen and 9-5 Aero wagon
E39 540i/6
Classic Mini
'96 Impala SS
Restomod '55 Chevrolet and SHO-engined '49-'50 Ford
Grand National / Regal T-Type
1959 Cadillac. Preferably a hearse...
Java Green Spitfire 1500
Cadillac Brougham
W123 Benz
Subaru Legacy GT-B wagon
My list is almost everything you guys posted because 'I change my mind like a girl changes clothes' (sorry was listening to the radio on the way in). One day I like the Tercel 4WD and the next day I want an EVO and yet the same day in the afternoon I may want a Mini or a 4WD 4dr Tacoma.
I really think the car itself doesn't matter as my dream objectives are:
-
to rebuild an engines, transmissions, differentials at least once
-
to build a car from scratch including welding etc
-
own a race car
I think I've done it all but a half-assed job at all of them. An integra race car's been sitting in my garage for over 6 months now...i think it's still there last time I went into the garage. I once welded up a go-kart frame and I once disassembled a CRX motor and a M3 differential.
Either I don't have time or I lose interest half way into a project
An MGB-GT with something sensible for a motor...And it might happen if the right one comes along.
An 00-01 BMW M-coupe... but seriously the tires and maintenance cost as much as a buying a new CRX every year...I just couldnt do that to myself.
Here are mine and the associated day-dreams:
Mid 1970's Jaguar XJ6-C (XJ6 coupe, not an XJS) back-date the body work to look like a Series 1 XJ6 (1967-72 I think), add BMW 5-speed manual and Webers to the straight six, widened steel wheels to look like C-Type racing wheels
European Mercedes 280SL or 300SL (1972-89 R107 body style), add 1980's-era 17" AMGs, 5-speed manual from a W124 300E and the 3.6L 276hp straight six from a 1990's C36 AMG
1985-7 A2-chassis GTI, 1.8L 16V head on 2.0L (16V) early-90's Passat lower end, CIS injection (= 16V top-end with torque like an 8V - I've done this, I wish I had never sold that car!!)
VW Cabriolet up to 1992 with 2.0L 16V/CIS as above, Scirocco 16V suspension and brakes, Euro bumpers, old BBS ground effects
More realisitically:
Finish my 1984 911 Carrera (and paint it any color but its current shade of brown)
Make my 1977 924 nice enough to make the wife want to ride in it (or at least tolerate it)
Restore my 1972 VW Super Beetle (my first car) that's been sitting for 25 years
I think I can accomplish any of these reasonably. Even the Viper. Older copies with reasonable mileage (someone who actually drove the car once in a while for God's sake) are going for around 20k. That's a 4-year-old BMW.
First year or two of the Viper RT-10
M Roadster (Z3) Blue with two-tone interior
C4 Corvette with LT1 or newer (I'd love a Grand Sport)
1992 or 1993 Mustang GT Fastback (track slave)
More Miatae (track slaves)
E30 M3
BMW 135 coupe (Even if it is a little douchey )
1969 Camaro SS
Even more Miatae (even more track slaves)
Camry (I like Toyotas)
Last generation of the Supra
350Z with bare-minimum options (track packageish?)
2005 + Mustang GT (without the stupid fake hood scoop)

Nice. Interestingly, the XJC (either 6 or 12) is on my short list of favorite affordable classics ever. I've had a couple XJ6 sedans, and have always wanted an XJC. But after I saw this XJ12C, I know I wanted to UPdate one with Series III bodywork. it's just too perfect:
But, this one's another favorite, with it's cleaned up Series II bodywork:
67 ford thunderbrid (4 door) hella sweet
63 falcon coupe hard top
356C 2.0 quad cam!! mmmm.
964-911
930-911

E39 M5
2002tii, BMW(duh)
E30 M3
635csi
an old XJS 6cyl
2002 tran-am WS6
just off the top of my head
Oooh, those XJ coupes are niiiice. I'm gonna have to add it to my list.
My list consists of:
NB Miata - BRG, tan top. Absolute perfection.
2nd generation CRX
E38 740iL
1st generation XK8
But really, I want that NB Miata.
the internet lacks enough space for my list.
in short, anything quirky and unusual with an automatic transmission
I'll be those V-12 Jaguars boogie! My favorite luxory sedans, they are!

while in a the dazed and semi comatose condition created by a nasty head cold and copious amounts of night time cold meds, i dreamed (hallucinated) i sold my vx and bought an early "scooby do" van... converted to an rv/tow rig with a turtle top....
I also dreamed i had a third nipple, but i dont want to talk about that...
now i have to go look for 60-early 70's vans and figure out why i suddenly want one before the meds wear off...
I posted before, but I can think of a few more now so...
Alfa 164 (preferably the 164B model with cloth seats)
Alfa GTV6 (with swaybars, stiff springs and torsion bars, big brakes, etc)
One each of the different models of Alfa Milano ( I have the Gold already, so Silver, Platinum and Verde)
Alfetta sedan
Triumph Spitfire
Porsche 944
Mercedes w123 turbo diesel sedan
Mercedes 560sec
Jensen Healey
Porsche 914 2.0
75 or older bronco with a nv4500 and exploder v8 swapped in
GMC Motorhome with a Caddy 500 converted to EFI
For a couple of more rare and expensive cars
AMG mercedes w126 4 door
Late 50s Alfa Sprint Veloce
Abarth version of the Fiat 500 or 600
A BMW 2002, a Saturn wagon (so I will have owned one in all three body styles), an old-school Mini, a 2nd-gen MR2. That about rounds out the list.
If we're talking exotics, screw everything else, give me an Exige.

Miata in BRG.
Some old Alfa's - a Milano, GTV6 and a 105 coupe. Also an Alfa Montreal with improved suspension. That'd be my race car.
I'll have a 911 someday, preferably a '70s model in dark brown or gray, like Steve McQueen's one.
E30 & E36 M3.
A brand new Lotus Elise.
Early model Lotus Esprit.
An AE86 Corolla, with all the trick, overpriced JDM bits.
Something Cosworth powered - a Euro Sierra or Merc 190 etc.
An MG BGT V8. (Though not necessarily a genuine one.)
Cadillac Brougham.
Obtainable?
Viper GTS, blue/white or black
DeTomaso Pantera
'69 Charger, 944 S2
E30 M3, Esprit S4
RX-7 FD
S2000
Dodge Power Wagon (old, curved cab one from the 40s)
240z
late-model Corvair with an aluminum smallblock in the mid-rear
3rd gen Camaro
GT6
TVR Tuscan
1st gen Lotus Elan
Buick Grand National

A '67 or 68 XR7 Cougar
Years ago I had a '67 Cougar XR7-GT with a big blcck 390 and a 4 speed. It was a ton of fun, but it needed an inflight refueler as it only got about 8mpg uphill, downhill, highway, in town...8mpg.
Anyway, I've been lucky in that I've had many cars I've wanted, but there are still a few:
Lotus Europa
Lotus Elan
TVR Tuscan
911
Supra TT
I posted a whole list of cars a few days ago, then my cousin bought himself a...
2001 Porsche 996 Turbo, 6 speed, black/black
I MUST own one of those someday! Holy crap is that thing fast! It accelerates and hits the redline faster than I can shift. Maybe I'm exposing the limitations of my driving abilities, but seriously, everything happens SO FAST in that car.
Maybe I just haven't driven enough really fast cars, but that car is so freaking fast, that after driving it for a couple hours, I got out of it shaking. Bar none, the fastest car I've ever driven. Looks cool, too.
