Go look at the T-bird!! I had an '88 and that car was the absolute bomb. Bulletproof motor, good gearbox, handled way better than it should have and mine had 250,000 miles on it when I finally sold it.

I loved my 5-spd SC300 as a daily driver until I parted it out for Rice Rod purposes. Such a well-built comfortable car, even though it had 294k miles. Highway cruise missile. The manual makes it very fun, and the chassis handles well for its weight. The factory 5-speeds are rare and only going up in value thanks to #stancenation and the drifter crowd. I made a profit by parting mine out while still keeping the drivetrain, suspension, and other major parts for myself.

I'd also consider an Infiniti G20, SR20 goodness and you can get them with a 5spd/LSD. Plus, they're a respectable 4 door sedan (points with the wife).

If your Elco is within his budget I'll come buy it myself right now. I'll be there Saturday.

I refuse to take the bait. I'm currently sitting on one broken van and half a racecar that I "accidentally" bought.

Cruise missile is great for Texas until you want to rallycross. You can do it, but there are better ways to have fun.

Yeah, that's awesome. I've always wanted one of these. Worth a fly and drive, for sure.

Talked to the guy with the SC300. Seems like a solid ready to go car. He's pretty flexible on the price. Two doors, RWD and a manual sounds like an awesome car for the money. What are the weak points of those?

As far as I know they don't really have any. Maybe some interior electrical stuff dies after 20 years?

Dallas is like 180 miles from BCS. I made it in under 2 hours in the Europa once. Ahh... Theoretically....

The least believable thing about that story is a Europa running for 180 miles in a row.

Drove that car from BCS TX to the PRC several times. 3K miles per trip, and usually without a major breakdown. Made it to 5th street in Austin in like 1 hour 12 minutes. 'Course, Highway 21 was 2 lanes back then and the speed limit was double nickles. It got the same gas mileage (26MPG) no matter what speed you ran it at, 55 or 90. Ah... on a off-road track.

I think the good doctor is going to be disappointed because I bought the Civic. I have no doubt that the SC is a better car in better condition but I've always wanted a small hatchback and this one runs good and drives good. It's a little rougher than it looked in the ad and definitely needs some sorting. Don't tell the wife but I love a good project

Eh. So we'll have to start calling you Nick ("Honduh Boy") Comstock?

Anyway, Congrats, get it sorted and hope it all works out. If I wasn't out of garage space and horribly project-poor, I'd be all over that SC. Just begging for a 2JZGTE.
