I'm looking for a cell phone mount for my NB. I do use my phone for navigation and music so it's nice to have it solidly mounted somewhere. I use a Proclip and Ram combo in my 4Runner but I think it'll be too much in the smaller Miata interior. I do like the Proclip holder but I'm unsure of their mount. What do y'all use?
PS: I'm not a huge fan of windshield mounts.

My wife bought me one for Xmas that mounts into the cup holder. I’ve not tried it yet, but I’ll get a pic of it.
On my NC, I have one of the phone holders that mounts in the stereo CD slot. It is surprisingly good.
CD slot phone holder.
I used the goxt magnetic setup from orielleys in mine. Put the stand under the radio trip with the magnet exposed and angled towards the driver.
Ive used that mount for almost 100k, and under normal circumstances have never had the phone come off.
On my NA I stuck one of these on the dash above the tombstone. With the phone resting against the dash there was no vibration, and it keeps the phone in a spot that is easy to glance at, but doesn't block your view. My wife an I now have one of these, or the air vent version, in every car and just swap the metal plate over when we get new phones.

Earlier this morning, I was going to suggest fabricating a mount that you could use the little cubby hole with. But that's a better solution. Cheap, simple, and you can put it anywhere.

The NB doesn't really have any flat places on the dash like the NAs have, unfortunately.

Do you have a case for your phone with a metal plate inside? My girlfriend has one of the magnetic mounts that goes in your CD player but it doesn't work great with my phone. She did stick a plate in her phone's case so it works great for her but I've got a Samsung S7 Active without a case.

Here’s a pic of the one I got for Xmas. I haven’t even put it in the car - or driven the Miata since before the holidays :(
