I am at a crossroads with the challenge car I started in 2020. I have now sold all my other project cars except for it.

It is a 1993 mercedes 190e, that I am swapping a 2.0lnf from a solstice gxp into.

I think if I am ever going to get it done I need some help. The big items sill to do are

1. finishing up engine wiring (I have it wired up to get around the security system issues)

2.  Fuel delivery

I think I have most of the other stuff done.

Does any one want to join my challenge team and help me finish it?
or

I would also be willing to pay someone to help me get it started and drivable (I understand this would disqualify me from the $2000 challenge)

Findley Ohio, I believe.

Keep going boss!  This is gonna be epic!

I'd be available for a video call (and I think some of my other partners in crime would too).

Sounds like you just have a few hurdles to get it started and then you can handle the rest.

Wiring sucks.  Ya just gotta put your head down and find each connector and wire one at a time.

Thanks for the encouragement. I may take you up on the video call, once I can get a more specific action list around.

Schedule & Host a "parking lot style build party"

I've personally attended three of them over the past several years:

  • Saab-ute hack hosted by Robbie
  • Datsaniti build hosted by Maschinenbeau's
  • Wartburg gasser build hosted by Patrick

As a fellow 190e owner (Microsquirt'd in my case), I'd love to help but Ohio is not terribly convenient to DC.  I'm also realistically swamped with some work stuff so it's unlikely I'd be able to do anything until October-ish.

What kind of timeframe are we talking?

Meh.  It's all Ohio.

Yea, I didn't catch that when I wrote it.  Sorry for any confusion.

It's weird when you're going to drive out to Findlay and you're driving on route 10 and you see signs for Findley and think, it's two hours too early to be here already?  Then you do a reality check.

A FOAF lived in, IIRC, Van Buren, we'd go out there a couple times a year.

Fuel probably isn't too bad.  I ran new supply and return lines on an old project and the time-consuming part was just making them look really nice

I keep forgetting I have a fellow 190e/GRM person local to me!

I've been to one build party and would be happy to be involved in another if it's a day I can get free, and there's something I'm capable of helping with.

[/thread hijack] I occasionally take the ol' 190 out to Katie's C&C so if you ever go to that we could attempt to coordinate... [/thread hijack]

I'm about 50 miles away and could lend some unskilled labor if ya need!
I've got two little ones at home, and my work schedule is crazy, so I'd need a decent amount of heads up.

Sounds like I need to host a build party.

I don't have a specific time frame in mind to get it done other than I would like to take it to the challenge. (April 2024).

I not to far from van buren. Just on the other (south) side.

I would imagine the best day for a build party is a Saturday?

Chandler do you usually work weekends as well?

Neat project!

Bear in mind that you can get 375-400 bhp with a simple turbo swap and that the engines are pretty bullet proof on stock innards up to (and likely past) that point (I'm conservative and run mine at 375 bhp - squeaks into the 12 second 1/4 range).
