As I'm going to be going down to the Challenge either as my own one-man team or as part of another that already has full rooms, I'm going to need to get a room myself and figure there likely are others who will be in the same boat who either need a room themselves or are looking for someone to share a 2-bed room and lower the costs.
I'm either looking at arriving Thursday and leaving Sunday- if anyone has an extra bed for that time or someone else who hasn't gotten a room yet and will need it, let me know so we can work something out.
It's smart to ask. I went alone my first two years, and splitting the hotel cost would have been nice.
Yeah, I figure it would be good for both my budget and another competitor's. I'll be fine if I'm on my own, but would prefer it only costing ~$60/night instead of $120. Could potentially have crashed in the room with two friends locally who are going, but I'm about 10-15 years past the point in my life where I'm willing to sleep on the floor for a weekend to save money.
I've definitely hit the point where time & comfort are worth paying a bit more for...
The hotel offers a roll away single bed to add to your room. I think it is $5 more per night. Call in advance to add to your reservation. Supply is limited.
It makes the room tight. You put that bed roughly blocking where the adjoining room door is.
I've done it.

I have a reservation for a double bed room and don't have a roommate lined up. If you would like to you can share with me. I'm just a spectator and will be arriving on Thurs afternoon (2pm?) and leaving on Sunday morning (9am?).
Warning: I do occasionally snore and typically stay heavily medicated but usually rooms are only for sleeping and all other time is spent socializing outside.
If it would help you out (or anyone) then get in touch through the board email or call me at:

Sounds good- I'm figuring I'll mostly just be in the room to sleep myself and after many years of working staff at conventions I'm quite used to sleeping with earplugs in.
I'll drop you a note to get in touch. Thanks!
