I was thinking the other day that I would like to get a set of 17" steel wheels for my P car. Nothing fancy. Something that I could paint them or have them power coated depending on my wants. I want something that I don't particularly care about. I swear I saw a place a while back that makes up steel rims for short $$$$. I think they may be used for oval track? I would need them to be hub centric and drilled to the P car stud pattern. Again simple plain steel wheels something like a stock car wheel.

Check with the VW crowd, they seem to know how to get weird E36 M3 like that, and they know who will do it in ze german offsets.
These guys?

That is exactly the type of wheel I am looking for but they only go up to 16's on there site. I am going to call them and see if 17's are available.
I hear diamond racing wheels are crazy heavy.
What bolt pattern, width and offset do you need? That will really help thin the options down. 5X130 is rough since only Porsche uses it. 4X108 like the early 924's was shared by a few fords.
Open to adapters?
Perhaps collect a set of spares from cayennes?

Saabs also wore the latter lug pattern.

Yup, and bend easy. However, that might be more due to the crowd that drives them than a fault with the wheels themselves.

I also hear that real not-look-a-like circle track wheels are pretty light, but bend even easier. haha

They are very light compared to comparably sized steel wheels. Grab a 15X8 diamond and a 15x8 Wheel Vintiques and the difference is staggering.
As far as the strength goes. They are thin shells so of course they are fragile. They are for racing use only and not intended to put up with potholes or road debris. Diamond lists the wheel weights on their price lists so there should be no surprises.
The "Street" wheels they sell are far heavier and more durable but who is going to order them?

I was talking about the street wheels with the weight. Tons of people order them, it seems.
