So I ordered some things for a non-automotive project and they arrived today in a reused box. It threw me off because I haven't ordered and car parts recently.
Box seems older, but there's no date or anything on it. Quick Google searches produces no results.
Was is Das?
from a quick blast on google it seems to be from a snowmobile manufacturer, the founder ray gorski seems to have a number of interesting patents https://www.snowest.com/2014/07/gorski
that is a DARN cool box!
That HAS to be one of those "1-million MPG" carburetors. I wonder how long that box has been on the shelf. That thing has to have stories!
What are you going to do with it?
That box is too clean to have been used.
Years ago, my stepdad had a board game. As in, a product to sell. He had contracted out to have the pieces made, boards made, instructions printed, etc.... and boxes made.
Sadly, he didn't sell as many as he'd hoped to and we had lots of stock kicking around. For a long time, I used unused game boxes as storage boxes for rotary engine internals.
Now, I wonder if he still has any old stock, to use as packaging for ebay sales, just to make people wonder.
I got some old model trains from my uncle when I was about six years old. They came in this cool old wooden box. I don't have the trains anymore, but I'll never get rid of the box.

After he faked the moon landing, the guy invented that carburetor but the gubmint and big oil had him killed.

I have a wood box for... Evan Williams? I think? Circa 1950-something, stamped for a class six store on an West German base Grandpop was stationed at

"The government didn't want the public to know about this gas saving carburetor so they banned it". That's probably why there's little information available.
