I have been pretty impressed with my H3T. I bought it for off-road and it excels there. It does pretty good at truck things as well.

I can only imagine that improvements have been made in the past 16 years but the stories about engine and transmission failures are worrying.

Tell me more about this. I'm thinking about getting a Colorado Z71; love the specs but I don't know much about reliability.

I owned a 2017 Colorado Z71 with the 2.8L Duramax. It was great when it worked.....when it didn't it was awful and flat out unsafe. Spent months worth of time at the dealer trying to diagnose a fuel pressure issue causing stuttering and shut off(on the highway too!). GM stuck me with the bill for a rental car because the paperwork for the warranty says they have to identify a part PRIOR to giving you a rental. Abysmal customer service and abysmal reliabilty over the 50k miles i had the truck.

The funniest thing is during a three month period where they couldnt diagnose it properly the truck racked up more miles with the techs and manager behind the wheel than with me.

I finally gave up after asking GM to buy the truck back(20+ visits over a 3 year period). Traded it in on an F150 Ecoboost. Will never purchase a GM product ever again.
