I read it as, 'because she's involved law enforcement it's NOT a witch hunt and has definite grounds' but maybe I'm wrong.

"She's good people, and would not instigate a witch hunt without cause."

To me that reads that involving the law means a witch hunt.  Which is a concerning statement on multiple levels.

"witch hunt" just means "criminal investigation" nowadays.

I did not interpret it that way.

No it doesn't.  "Witch hunt" means specious investigation and is definitely the way "The Cheeto" is using that phrase

I think you guys are overanalyzing ddavidv's statement, and that it's more likely he meant it the way that iansane suggests even if he's using the phrase incorrectly.

And this type of petty bickering over semantics for outrages sake, that only serves to detract and divert attention away from the real issue at hand, is exactly why I totally understand her disabling replies to her post.

I would love to know more about how they determined that fuel contamination was the cause.  The garages at CMP are wide open, so it's a ballsy move to be poking around at night.  And who would have a motive?  Other club racers?  Just a crappy situation all around.

Obviously, a quality fuel analysis should be in order...

Obviously it would've been done when the car's team was out of sight, but unless most of them know each other's crews, some rando filling up a car with a fuel jug wouldn't look out of place

Christina is absolutely not a person who would make E36 M3 like this up. She's a very kind and good human being. That someone would berkeley with her makes me sad and angry.

I'm curious about your choice of wording.  So anything that involves law enforcement is a witch hunt?  Meaning that it's unwarranted?

You're reading things into my post that aren't there.

People earlier were accusing it of being a witch hunt, though not using that language. I made the point she would not go to the authorities without cause. If my wording was confusing, I'm sorry.

You are not the one that should be apologizing here.

After reading the comments here it makes me regret starting this thread.

I didn't see where people were saying it was a witch hunt in this thread.  I wasn't asking for an apology, just a clarification.  "Witch hunt" has very negative connotations and makes it seem like what she's doing, by involving law enforcement, is unwarranted.

Curious why contaminated fuel is suspected. Gas cap found on the floor? A puddle found below the filler? In the past, I've unintentionally changed something on an ECU tune, then been very surprised when it started running poorly. If I had also just added fuel, it wouldn't be a big leap to think that it was contaminated. Curious what the very last thing done to the cars was before being parked the night before. Was it an ECU adjustment? Were the tanks topped off that morning? Agree that the fuel should be analyzed, if for no other reason than to possibly rule out the contamination theory.

Completely guessing here but I imagine the fuel analysis is why Law Enforcement is involved. Pretty difficult to start calling the fuzz if you don't have a smoking gun. Or a smoking block as the case may be...

I spoke to Christina. Not going to say much, because it's an ongoing investigation and it was a private conversation. I can tell you a fuel analysis was done, and there was definite contamination while at the track.

It was likely not random, and there is a suspect.

BMWCCA basically whined that everyone should just get along and just wants it swept under the rug.

Ooph.  That sucks.  This is literally worst case scenario.

I was really hoping for just some sort of mistake.

Ya.  Instead of, I don't know, showing support to someone that could use it. It devolves in to this.

I can not wait for the thread where it is proposed that Eric Magnisson set his own car on fire on at the start finish line doing 130 mph so he can get more popular on the internet.  Oh and all the fire was cgi and the kill switch melted to his glove was really superglued there. Yup I am getting out the popcorn for this one.   WTF is wrong with people these days.

All this proves is that she was 110 percent correct is locking comments down on her FB post because people just plain suck
