"The channel has over 1.8 million subscribers as of 2019 and has accumulated over 450 million views so far. It is able to get an average of 500,000 views per day from different sources. This should generate an estimated revenue of around $2,000 per day ($730,000 a year) from the ads that appear on the videos.
YouTubers get paid between $2 – $7 per 1000 monetized views after YouTube takes its cut. Monetized views range from 40% – 60% of the total views. All these are influenced by several factors like device played on, the location of the viewer, ad inventory, how many ads there are on a video, how many people skip the ads, type of advertisement, ad engagement , niche etc. The cost of an ad view is based on an auction between advertisers based on views. Advertisers have to bid a minimum of $0.01 per view."
Wow, that is awesome! great they could pull together and save the racetrack! Hopefully actually racing can occur and not just fluff entertainment.
People who think he is just a yokel hick just don't realize it's a profitable character he portrays. I like the channel but I have to kind of weed through the shtick BS to see some of the interesting projects they are working on.

I've been working on it for a year and there's a track for sale by me. I haven't made any money though.

People also forget he is also the one that took over and ran/started all of the social media for 1320video in the beginning of them going from DVD's to the internet. He was realistically one of the main driving factors behind making 1320 the drag racing media that it is today.
Knew he was worth watching when he got sentimental about his old neighbor and did project neighbor as a tribute. He may not be for everyone but to me he's up there with roadkill and mcm and fun to watch the shenanigans.
This guy isn't just an on screen personality, he puts in the work and has done so much to keep motorsports relevant today. He was my source for Rocky Mountain Race Week coverage, uploading full length videos every day during the event. After Benny's Custom Works and the Mighty Car Mods crew did such a phenomenal job covering Drag Week here in the US, it was a real pleasure to see Cleetus return the love to Australia by bringing an American built car to Summernats.
If there was a track for sale near me I'd want this guy to buy it.
I'm just relieved that his 'big news' wasn't going to motortrend.
I've limited interest in drag stuff but still watch that channel pretty often, I'm OK with the character he plays.
The Champcar team I run with in Florida does a lot of work with ‘Cleetus’, and if you’ve watched a few of his vids, you’ve no doubt seen Kevin of KSR Fabrication. A little over a year ago, Cleetus and his buddy on the Fasterproms channel came out and ran with us at Sebring for the 14hr Champcar race.
Here’s the video that posted on the Fasterproms channel. I’m the one getting into the chop-top 300Z at the first pit stop, and the tire he shows with the bulge happened during my stint.
I have no idea who the guy is but anyone who opens a track is insane and a person I want to meet . When do you all find the time to watch so much you tube?
The shtick is a little too over the top for me, but good on him for loving life and living the dream.
I've seen a claim that he's planning to pave the entire infield for a burnout pit.
I think of autocross. The local club in the west coast has an insurance restriction that doesn't allow them to run in turns with a wall on the outside, paving the infield would solve that.
All moot to me, I don't live in Bradenton anymore.
In reply to Floating Doc :
Our local PCA chapter has run autocross events at this facility in years passed, using the banked turns. Maybe SCCAs rules are more strict.

i know he's crushing the regular TV guys like on Powerblock with the number of views he gets.
Apparently it is like one cent per thousand views, or something like that.
I do like that Cleetus doesn't cover up his mistakes. When he does something dumb or screws up, he comes out and admits that they screwed up and put it in the video, rather than editing it out and covering it up like some channels.
Just stopped by to say I started following him on Thursday and this was announced Friday. What a time to be alive.
Do it for Dale.
I really like cleetus. He's done a ton for Motorsport ever since his early days as a side act on 1320 video. He's a character, but he's a character that sells. And anyone that sells, gains interest. And if one kid sees project neighbor or Leroy or any other of the wild E36 M3 he's building and tries Motorsports, that's a win. He doesn't judge, either. Sure he talks about bald eagles and murica and maot of his cars are ls powered- but fast is fast and he gets down with it. The mystery machine is the perfect example of that, or the bike swapped good cart wheelie rig, or time with the boosted Bois, who are avowed Honda enthusiasts. In a day and age where fun is looked down on and everyone needs a safe space, cleetus is doing his best to shine big dumb florida man style, and it works.

The time he killed the 5.4 in Neighbor. "I hit the key in the trailer to unload it and rods came out, not sure what happened yet."
I like Cleetus. His program is entertaining.

And then making it very clear they outsourced the assembly of the new motor because they weren't confident in their ability to avoid a repeat of that situation.
I really like the stuff he does, it's light hearted fun, and the character of Cleetus that Garrett Mitchell plays is a part of American culture that is admirable. He is open, admits his mistakes, gets on well with everyone he meets, and his enthusiasm is infectious.
The bald-eagles/freedom powered stuff is a very nicely judged bit of self-deprecating humour and is stands in incredible contrast to the Blut und Boden path being trodden by the US government these days.
There's also a huge contrast between what he does (actually making stuff, racing it - striving to have the fastest manual Corvette) which really brings you with him, to the "yeah, I just bought this Lamborghini Performante, it matches my new shoes" cadre of YouTubers.
I'm genuinely interested in what he does with the Speedway, I believe it'll be something good for the motorsports (and local) community.
