Looking through the ever-delightful SCCA Solo II rulebook, I see no mention of clutch changes in Street Touring. Street allows aftermarket clutch replacements but dictates that they must be essentially identical to stock.
I know the standard "anything not specifically allowed is prohibited" answer, but do they really bump you all the way to SP just for a clutch upgrade?
Clutch rule for ST is the same as Street. Yes, you'd get bumped to SP for a "significant" upgrade.

I took it to mean that your clutch needs to be of similar design but can be of superior material. The flywheel is the biggy and can't be made lighter. So clutch disc: fine. But 10 lb aluminum flywheel: SP.

what's funny, the Tib gets a HEAVIER flywheel to not suck. Not sure how that worked out.... but still.

Thats not correct. It has to be the OE type Disk and material.

Yes, modify anything outside the OE design with the clutch and it's SP or higher.

So if you have a car with a notoriously weak clutch, you're berked. Nice.
On the plus side, I see they FINALLY allow supercharger pulley changes in SP.

The guy in question is a novice so I am not going to bump him to SP just because he has a <rolleyes> "Stage 3" clutch </rolleyes>. I just think that whole non-allowance is fairly stupid. Flywheel, OK, that's a real difference, but clutch? C'mon, it's a pretty normal upgrade for the crowd ST is aimed at.

Stupid question, and don't need a clutch yet, but if I run an NA clutch/ flywheel, same thing, bumped from STR (where I'm not competitive anyway...)?

Update/backdate is only okay once you go to Street Prepared. Realistically though, how much difference is it going to matter? Probably not enough that anyone is going to go "He's cheating and clearly has a lighter flywheel"
