My son has a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. He lives with my ex in Columbus. The car suffered some sort of catastrophic failure. It sounds like the control arm mount to the subframe rusted through. Control arm folded, and might have also taken a CV axle and steering components, hard for me to tell over the phone. I think I just need someone to pay us scrap rate and haul it away. Can someone help with a phone number of a "we buy cars" dude? Alternatively, if anyone wants it for scrap price, I'd be thrilled. I bought it in FL at a deceased auction. It was very low miles (like 35k) a couple of years ago. I knew from the papers it was a NY car that snowbirded down to FL and ended up there when the lady died. Apparently it was more rusty underneath than I could see.

Sorry, I can't help with your request. I was just a bit disappointed to not find "...and the body in the trunk..." somewhere in the description.
Call various junk yards. Scrap is down at the moment so don't expect much more than beer money for it especially if someone has to come get it.
Yeah, one of my cousins just took one to the junkyard, she drove it in and it had a new battery, and she got $150.
Kinda wish I had the space to take it apart, I could have got a good Ecotec for practically free.
Price for scrap went up today to $65 a ton.
Does the car have a manual trans?

That's what I was hoping to find. I live in FL so it doesn't make sense for me to drag it down just to get to part it out and save the good stuff. Seats and interior near new, low mile Ecotec, etc.
