Need recommendations on a QUIET non-aggressive “bite” auto-x pad. I don’t like the “on-off switch” pads, as I like to really dig into the pedal.
Hawk HPS? Decent stock pads? Tommy Callihan?

I used Hawk HPS as track day pads on my GTI. I also still use them as everyday pads on my GTI. I will probably use them as the starting point for track day pads on my Mustang. I wouldn't say they're necessarily aggressive but they are assertive in a confidence inspiring way. They're also well known and well liked so there's a lot of support for questions and concerns.
I've always been happy on HPS's with my Mazdas (Miatas and Rx-8s). Especially for Autocross, but I always used them as my street pad as well.
I did manage to fade them once in the Rx-8, at a new (to me) track that I was over-braking on. When I stopped hitting the brakes so much, they stopped fading and my lap times improved :)
I now run the EBCs on the Rx-8, they're grippier and have a higher temp, but they are a lot dustier. I'll put on HPSs on it when these wear out, now that I have a dedicated track car.
I absolutely LOVE how performance friction z compond pads work. Fantastic initial bite, very linear.
Now i need to go see what all they are available for.....

I wish I had a vehicle that they made some for. I used PFC’ 2 decades ago on my cop cars and loved them.

Out of all the vehicles that I need to do brakes on the 95 Silverado is the only one they make pads for
My 2006 STR MX-5 wears Hawk HPS 5.0 pads. They work as well as I need them to autocrossing, are quiet on the street, and held up fine to a track day at NCM. I have no complaints about them whatever.
I use Ferodo DS2500 on the S2000. They aren't too cold on the street, and you can feel them warming up if you apply consistent pressure (descending a grade, for example). I've used them at High Plains many times, and they really only overheat if I'm over-braking. They are a tad noisy if you aren't applying much pressure to them, though I have heard from others that they are completely silent on the street. Could be a heavier car?
Not a big fan of the Hawk HPS unless you're going to use them only as a street/auto-x pad. I don't understand how you guys are using them as track pads without them melting away into nothingness immediately...
The Ferodo DS2500's are better as track/daily pads but only if you have a relatively lightweight/low powered car...
