Very soon we'll be moving the site to a larger server. What does this mean for you? Well, bigger is better, right? Plus it will eliminate that 502 problem we experienced a couple of weeks ago.
Unfortunately, the swap will also involve about an hour of downtime. We're again going to schedule the work for an early morning, and soon we'll have particulars. We'll keep you posted.
is this because of the VS threads?

I think the hotlink thread finally broke it.

Waiddaminnit..hey, I'll admit I only speak pidgin computer, but aren't hotlinked images actually hosted on other servers?
This was just one of those things that needed to be done.
We just finished a big round of updates on our Classic Motorsports site: www.classicmotorsports.net.
Soon we'll be busy making some improvements here.

Clearly, this means that the current server is 502 cubic inches and you're getting rid of that one. So the new server is what like a 572?

572, 573, whatever it takes.

I'm betting the new server is measured in liters, not cubic inches, he did say it's new.
I'll bet its a rotary swap
How about a Sonny Leonard 762? That sounds like a server for us.

This is GRM...we deserve the Ford Nucleon of servers!
Servers? where we are going, we don't need servers
When this baby hits 88 MHz...you're gonna see some serious E36 M3!

Right you are.
I dunno about GRM's wacky homebrew forum software, but with some other forum software, huge threads will break them. The solution, of course, is to delete the thread (which also improves the signal-to-noise ratio).

I'm hoping more Tory IIC territory...
This is already one of the fastest loading sites on the web for me anyways, on PC or on my phone.
But who am I to tell you not to upgrade?

No, you're gonna see an FCC citation for unlicensed operation in the FM broadcast band, unless your transmit power is below 100mw and your antenna is less than 10 feet long.
88MHz? A computer that slow couldn't even load the GRM logo. :)
I think the new server should get all its error messages from here. It'll be a whole lot funnier to get a 502 error and see:
Is it a large redhead server?
The server upgrade is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, at 7:00 a.m. We'll be down for about an hour.
Thank you for your understanding.
