Ooof, that's going to take some getting use to.
So sudden and no opportunity to say goodby to a dear old friend...
It's pretty slick though.

Seems like I have an issue. I clicked on one of the "latest" links and it just brings me back to where I already was.
The latest comment button is working for me. Have you tried clearing your cache?
Is it supposed to be huge?
I've cleared the cache but it seems like all the fonts are massive.
The fonts are larger than the old layout. It may seem like a huge change at first, but we actually worked pretty hard to make sure you could still see close to the same amount of entries.
In the old layout I could see 7 topics in a forum at any given point in time. With the new layout I can see 5

This. Its nearly unreadable because its so big.
In reply to Ed Higginbotham :
I meant the side bar links. That button is working for me too.
You apparently haven't met some of the gas station burritos I have.... -Dusterbd13
Ah I see what you're talking about now. I'll report this to our developers. Thanks for reporting it!
Wow. The old forum SUCKED in comparison to most and this new version, IMO, is WORSE.
The fonts are HUGE. I can't just scan a page and see multiple topics I want to click on and read.
This is close to unreadable/unusable.
Seriously, is there something wrong with using the standard forum software/layout like Rennlist/BimmerforumsAdvRider and the like?

The font/layout seems a lot bigger than that.
I appreciate the concern for us old people who all of a sudden need to wear reading glasses, but this seems a bit much.
There also seems to be some wasted space that makes one scroll more than in the past. Not sure if I like that or not.

One other thing to add- the spaces when you hit the return seems all to be far more.
instead of a normal break
it's a double break
and a double return is even more.
(quote works now. ;))

Sadly, I am going to have to agree.
Its better on my phone, but on my desktop its a nightmare.

+2
Oh, wait, I've got it- it's designed just to function in a half width window right? Looks pretty much perfect that way
Yeah, I didn't really mind the old layout/setup except for posting pictures. This looks "better", but it's not a great use of space.
Its a good thing I have a 27" monitor...the 4" width would really be struggling without it.
I don't like change. I don't like this change.
So the reply button brings up a box that my phone doesn't recognize as a text entry box, so I don't get the keyboard.
Beyond that, the readability is great, as long as you know what you want to read and are patient enough to get to the right forum, then the right topic, then the right page. In order to do all that, though, you have to know what the thread was called and about what page you want, because I can't seem to find any preview text. It's a *lot* of scrolling too.
Browsing through what is recent seems difficult to impossible now. Maybe I need to figure out how to subscribe to a thread and set my favorite to something that reflects those and not the whole home page?
I think I've seen at least four of these now, and every new forum upgrade/update is worse than the last, but we all get used to it.
Quote button doesn't work for me.
Well, I suppose it does look good on phones now.
I'm going to be replacing mice more often, because I'll be wearing out my scroll wheel with this new layout.

Up until literally a minute ago the Quote & Reply buttons didn't work properly for me, but they finally do.
Will have to see going forward whatr I think about the new layout... it definitely does make just scanning through threat titles more difficult with how few fit onto the screen at once. Haven't tried looking at it on my phone yet, imagine I'll get the chance later.

Quote button does work, but there is no "X" or "Close" button to close the quote editor if you change your mind and dont want to quote.
Also, the quote includes the authors signature.

What phone and browser are you using?
And any idea what makes browsing through recent topics difficult?
I'm on mobile, but I want to throw in a vote for liking it. There are a few things not working, but I'm confident they'll get sorted. Being able to upload pictures directly to the site (once it's all working) will make this all worth it.
You'll need to log in to post.
