Owwww those FDs are so beautiful. I'm struggling to come up with a prettier Japanese car. Even the 2000GT might have to take a back seat.

There was a really nice Efini (sp?) FD RX7 at this past weekend's Lemons car. It was absolutely pristine and looked bone stock. Beautiful, beautiful car. Shame about the prices.

I'd go so far as to say arguably one of the most beautiful, period. It's in my all-time Top 5. (With the Ferrari Daytona, AMC AMX, 68 Corvette, and the Aston DB9... huh, all long nose/short tail FR coupes).

I remember the first time I saw an FD... god. I love them, and love them more with an elless/t56. So pretty.

Miata. Duh. The Solstice is not that good looking, in my opinion. Always liked the Sky better. And the Miata is better looking than both combined.

Yup. And people have built Locosts for under $2000, but somehow Caterham still manages to sell cars It all depends on how it's done. Junkyard parts, free labor and a car that fits a shiny quasi-race aesthetic for the concours, versus brand new parts (some with warranties!), high power, professional work and a car that looks factory can make a big difference in price. And of course, there's every stage in between. The big difference is, of course, who's doing the work. If you're paying someone else for their time, it's going to cost more. A $7000 480 hp crate engine is also going to bring a different result than a $100 225 hp 5.0 out of an old Fox body Mustang.

Our conversions aren't cheap, but the end result is less expensive than a 2011 Corvette convertible and comes with both a 50 hp power advantage and a 650 lb weight advantage. Plus people will walk around the Corvette to check out the Miata

As for the LS9 NC, well, we have a little project going on right now. No LS9, but I think it will catch people's attention.

Given the choice, I'd take an LS7 Solstice coupe over a Corvette. I'm not going to comment on the Miata, as I'm building one of those right now!

I prefer the feel of a sharp naturally aspirated engine in a Seven-style car over a turbo. They're hyper cars, you want that hyper response.

Am i the only one that is rather unimpressed by everyone frantically cramming chevy LS engines into non chevy cars that came with perfectly good engines to begin with? Sometimes it turns out well, but most of the time not really.
