No help on Indiana. I did two in PA; one was a boat, and another was an old abandoned Scout. In the case of the boat, there was a procedure where I had to order a $5 research from the DMV to find out the last three owners and send them a return-receipt letter, place an ad in the legal section (which I did in a pennysaver from some random market), and then they issued a title after 30 days. The Scout was different. I had to petition the court, but they weren't allowed to tell me how to do it, so I ended up getting a bit of advice from a notary, sent it in, and the court issued a ruling which I could take to DMV and apply for a title.

Id be interested in more information on that Scout process tbh. I'm also in PA and love to learn all these dmv/notary hacks.
