Hey,
I have about 4 ads up right now. All are pretty ordinary, undramatic.
My ad for "Welding accessories" was blocked about 5 days ago. I tried to sort the issue/s out via the Clist hotlinks, no luck.
The feedback from my account says that I have been blocked, and does not give any specific reason.
Has anyone seen this? Is there a magic button to make the problem go away?
TIA,
Rog
Can you just retype the ad and put it up again?
Or is your account entirely block from posting ads?
Typically if Craigslist has blocked or ghosted you, it is by ip address, so reposting the ad from the same computer won't work. You could create a new account from a different ip tied to another email. Best way to not get blocked is don't post the same ad in multiple categories or geographic locations.
In reply to John:
I recreated the ad, it seemed OK, then was blocked the next day. The ad that is blocked was the 3rd of 3 ads that I relisted that day. The others are OK....
In reply to Eastcoast: I have another computer, that I will try to list from.
Thanks,
Rog
I flag this A-hole on our C-list because he makes a separate ad for EACH individual part of a car. It's the same damn guy selling a 2002 neon, and I swear it's every freakin bolt and nut listed individually. It doesn't sound like you are doin that, but if you do something similar it'll get flagged.
I used to get flagged because the hippies out here didn't like me using words about firearms, even though "pistol grip shifter" is indeed not firearm.
Finally, I've known guys that would call and lowball a guy about his car, get told "no, I'm not ready to sell it for that much yet", so they would flag the ad consistently, hoping the guy would give in every time they called him back. This was early days of C-list. Circa 2005.
I Guess Southern Longhairs are Different, I love My Pistol Grip Shotgun.

I liked it when CL had separate buttons for 'prohibited' and 'mis-categorized'. I sometime flag ads that in the wrong category, such as selling car parts in the car section instead of the car part section. Do you have your ads in the correct category?
craigslist can be very slow to resolve things like this. I'd often find my IP blocked randomly for a full day at work doing nothing but browsing. I fired off an email saying we're a business and I found no evidence our employees were abusing craigslist, etc. After about another month of random blocks it finally stopped happening, but they never did respond to my email.
Did you have a price on it?

Sounds like someone doesn't want the competition and is flagging your ad. Look to see who is selling something similar for more?
Just a thought - if you are using a proxy server, your ads can get blocked based on the IP of the proxy. I got blocked once, it went away for me when I switched the proxy off, then posted.
