I just received a pair of Falken RT-660+ tires to replace my worn-out A052. Yikes! Unmounted, they look way wider than the same size Yokohamas, like 2" wider, to the point where I worry about them fitting under the fenders.

Has anyone on the forum run the Azenis in size 265/35-18 on a Focus RS?

Well, TireRack shows the Falkens 0.3" wider in section width, and 0.4" narrower on tread width, mounted on the same width rims. Now you get to confirm  or deny that, I guess.

tire companies have rubber rulers.

Is the tire you're comparing to mounted?

In reply to dps214 :

Tire width shrinks a fair bit when mounted but they are wider as the rack's site says.

Yes, the worn tire is mounted.

Mounted to unmounted is almost never a meaningful comparison.

Here they are mounted. They look similar to the others, maybe just slightly wider, and fit fine under the fenders.

Does anyone have any data on how they perform compared to the others on the table on page 98 (April 25 issue)? My guess is somewhere between the RE71RS and the Potenza Race, with a A pace. Good enough for local events.

In reply to Andy Hollis :

Great, thank you, Andy. As I suspected, not quite as fast as the RE-71RS, but good enough for the local autocrosses I attend. And if I'm in a really tight race, I can rotate the worn RS's to the front.
