CL listing for auto Cressida
http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/3643711664.html
There is a guy here in DFW that wants $7500 for his 87 Cressida. Some like it, but to me it looks like it crashed into a jdm accessory catalog....and oh lord that price.
There is also a straight 79 Cressida wagon for sale locally too but its an auto.
Jesus christ. Really? I keep hearing all these horror stories where a craiglslist meeting is arranged abd the seller is robbed, raped and stabbed. May I suggest your next victim?

yes this very much would like to see pics and more information about wagon
When my Grandmother passed away I inherited her 87 in perfect shape. It was a nice / comfy cruiser, but not sporting in any way. They are very much like a Japanese Mercedes--- big, soft, slow to react to any inputs (throttle / steering) and highway mileage eaters. Super comfy seats too.
I'm sure they can be made fun with a giant turbo / engine swap / revised suspension, etc.....but in stock form, they are what they were intended to be----- luxury cars for the elderly.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Toyota built them as luxury cruisers and their target buyer was a more "mature" person. My friends father had one when I was growing up, rode in it a lot. I remember it being a really nice (comfy) car. I think it's looks have aged well, they're cool retro cars.

The road to "They shoulda never gave you honkeys money" is paved with good intentions.
Also, for the fanbois, I doubt you'll find a wagon nicer than this one:

^^^these guys have cool, ridiculously overpriced E36 M3 all the time. Somebody there is into Turbo Dodges, as they always have a couple.
Um. By the way. Holy E36 M3. They have the Top Gear Yugo:

The wagons had a solid rear axle IIRC, while the sedans have IRS.
Just in case anyone cares.
They did offer a 5spd manual from the factory, but those are super rare. I'd imagine it's the same box from the Supra---- the shifter looks identical.

Yeah Cherokee auto group does have interesting stuff. I almost bought an Alfa there once but the water pump starting leaking 2 minutes after it turned on and I came to my senses.

I must've driven past the place a million times and never noticed it. Wife's family lives in that area. I need to stop in some time and at least figure out what the story is. They get some oddball stuff!

Don't know when I'll be down there next, but I'll gladly take a poke.
I want to have someone look at that bronze wagon in Canton as well if they could. I have a line on a nice white 87 wagon in NY, but that bronze wagon has the nicer color interior, and looks to be a clean slate unlike the white wagon I have my eyes on.
