Lexus gs400, put exhaust on it and he will be happy with the v8 noise, decent mpg, comfy, and great reliability. Not to mention a 20 year old lexus is way nicer than a 10 year old mustang

Thanks for the praise.
To hit it on the head again...
Q: What is part 2 door Crown Vic and part "the other Mustang"?
A: Lincoln Mark 8
Cheap too. Local sample
A little older and you have the Mark 7 too.
Pristine local sample
Sounds like the role of a 4G maxima. For that price he can probably pick up a really good one and drive it for awhile.

They expensive still. $14-20k, occasional 9-10$k GMR fixer upper but he's not equipped to do that. That's a good car though..
They drive like big muscle cars? I'll have to check those out too... hmm..

How would maintenance be like on that? He'd have to take it to a mechanic.
Here's a v8 one..

Are trucks acceptable? I'm thinking silverado 2wd regular cab short bed with a 5.3. LS power, 300k mile life spans, and do truck stuff.
When you say "Why no 2 door crown vic?" I think v8 cougar. But you already mentioned those I think.
Yup, came here to say SC300/400
keeping that japanese theme, 3rd gen supra, z32 300Z, H22 prelude?
BMWs out of the question?
Well dang, he bought a marauder that we looked at today. And now I'm green with envy.
I was going to put some money into my Crown Vic but after seeing the maruader in person I think that would be a waste. I could just sell my Vic and put the money I get + money I'd spend on the vic and get a marauder. Reliable Honda civic + marauder weekend / cruising sweetheart is sounding good right now for me..
In reply to gearheadmb: The body trim is a little different. The cylinder heads and cams are different. The rear suspension has a different setup. It has a standard limited slip diff. They only made a few colors, and the black Marauders look dope.
lexus
LS
400
they practically never break, and for 6 grand you can get a very clean, relatively low mileage 98-01 model (which look much better and had some other nice upgrades than the earlier models)
basically nothing tops the ls400 for comfortable worry free daily driving on a budget
edit: whops, didn't see he bought a marauder, oh well
Nissan Altima Coupe? Accord Coupe? Solara Coupe? If he is feeling really brave, probably could find an early non S cooper in that price range.
