(Apologies if this is not the place for this, I've had an account for years but rarely post)
My name is Ryan. My dad, Warren is better known around these parts as DeadSkunk.
GRM is like a big family so we wanted everyone to know that my dad is currently in the ICU fighting a staph infection in his bloodstream that is attacking tissue throughout his body.
He began experiencing hip pain last week and went to urgent care where they did an X-ray and determined he needs a new hip. Throughout the weekend his pain increased to the point where it was decided to take him to the ER. Doctors determined he had a staph infection in his bloodstream that was sending out toxins that cause necrosis of the skin and muscle. As of this post, he has had 2 surgeries on his left forearm and right thigh to try to stop the spread of infection with another planned for Monday or Tuesday. The infection is also causing a number of other issues with his heart, lungs, etc. He is in a fight, you guys. He is making small progress thanks to the help of many doctors and specialists but he is still in critical condition.
If you're the praying type he could use a few right now, or any positive vibes you have.
Thanks,
Ryan Martin (son of DeadSkunk)

Really sorry to hear this news. Warren ( and yourself) have been to the shop a couple of times and I kind of count on you guys to be the "Canadian" team at the challenge. Will be thinking of you guys.

Ryan, I saw this earlier on Warren's Facebook page. I knew he had developed a hip issue, but this was not expected. I've met you and your dad a couple times at the track, and you are both great people. Warren, you, and all of your family are in my thoughts for a fast, full recovery.
Praying for your dad! Thanks for letting us know
