While McDreamy wasn't driving, the team he co-owns scored a GTE win at LeMans. Congrats to him, he is a hell of a driver in his own right and a true car guy to the core.

Absolutely. He's very passionate about racing and it's nice to see someone that passionate get good results.

From a pizza delivery guy to this!
But seriously, I’ve always liked this guy for some unknown reason. But after I found out not only was he a car guy (understatement) but he’s a big Porsche guy (major win in my book!), I couldn’t help but be a fan.
I had the chance to meet and hang out with Patrick at Sebring a few years ago. He's just as cool and nice as you'd hope he would be. Super nice guy, talented driver, incredible philanthropist, and yeah...... he's just as damn dreamy in person as he is on T.V.
After spending some time with him, I left feeling very inadequate, ugly and slow.......... Super successful, nice guy racer jerk! :)
It is great to see him win.
It was cool to see his reaction on Sunday. I took my kids and dad to the last ALMS 12 hours of Sebring. Knowing Patrick would be there my wife made me swear to get a picture of him with my boys. So we stand in line, one of the longest, to get a Hero card and the picture and slowly move up. We finally get up to the table, the boys get the cards and he is talking to them. My oldest says that he really liked the Lola prototype that they ran one year and Patrick chuckles a bit. He then turns in his seat and asked one of his people to grab two hats out of the hauler, signs them both and gives them to the boys. He was very cool about the whole picture deal, which must be hard because it has to happen all the time, and the kids and my wife got a nice memory out of it.
When I met him at Daytona circa 2011, I didn't really know much about him other than he was a car nut, and that my girlfriend (at the time) was obsessed with him due to his starring on Grey's Anatomy. I was in the autograph line and he was there with all of his Mazda Visit Florida teammates.
I was wearing one of my go-to Volvo shirts ("Practice Safe Sex....Do it in a Volvo"). He looked at me and said "Haha! I love your shirt. My wife has a Volvo". We chatted a bit more, and I wished him luck. I think they finished 3rd in class that year. Nothing quite like the scream of a 3-rotor on the high banking through Nascar 3/4 at 4 in the morning.
Great guy and a great result. I was really happy for him. My wife even passed by and seemed to give the tiniest of E36 M3s when I told her he won.
I ran into him at Road Atlanta at the Petit LeMans. We were staying in the same hotel and were at breakfast together, and both went to the buffet at the same time. I had this whole thing worked out how I was going to say something to him and strike up a brief conversation before exchanging numbers so we could grab a beer some time after the race and become best buds. He looked at me, I stammered something about bacon and then he walked off. Oh well.
