I rode in one at an autocross.  The guy could really drive and I was shocked at the speed and ability of the car.  He  really put it through it's paces.  It is his concession to parenthood, (not that he is giving up his other cars), but the car was just amazing.  I am thinking of getting one for my wife.

I think a Type R would be a better concession to parenthood with the trunk having way more space in the Civic than the Kona but you can also buy a brand new Hyundai N model for much cheaper than a used Type R right now.

I'm still seriously impressed by all the tech though. I still haven't even found all the sub-menus for the customization and love that you can have driving profiles. Sadly daughter #2 prefers my Sequoia to the Kona. Daughter #1 is obsessed with the exhaust pops/crackles in full N mode.

Yea Hyundai has a great powertrain but seem to be offering it in all kinds of weird bodies instead of effectively a Civic Hatch.  Or a 4 door Veloster.

5 business days in and I still enjoy it. I have two gripes, the amount of telescoping in the steering wheel doesn't compliment the seating position and I have no cupholders big enough to carry a hydroflask. Something the 10th Gen Si had with it's deep console. Weirdly my  girlfriend loves everything about it and wants to replace her Crosstrek with this as a DD. Her 2010 Kia Forte left a bad tastes in her mouth about Kia/Hyundai and she says this makes up for it 10 fold. Her words "My people finally got a car right"

I can't wait until it's broken in so I can fully rip it

FWIW, our review of the "regular" Kona is now up.
