This past Sunday I picked up our Foxbody Mustang.
While the may have been built in 1990 the interior screams 1985.
The 4 spoke steering wheel, plastic everywhere and the faux Recaro seats scream Rad-Era goodness. It even has the carpet dash cover.
Before I sat in the car I had intended to modify the interior but the stock interior is in such good shape I can't bring myself to touch it.
To quote a line from the movie Patton "God help me I love it so"

When I get home I will try to post up pictures of the interior.
I thought the next post was going to be something about a Turkish prison.......
The early Jeep Gladiators had all metal interiors. I don't recall seeing any in movies.
I mean the same basic interior shapes hadn't changed from 78/79...

Here is that lovely 80s goodness.
In reply to Tom1200 :

Remember, my BIL still has a bone stock '86 GT he bought new so I'm aware. I'd be shocked if it has 50K on it.

I am loving it thus far and I've only driven it out of the trailer......
Unless that's an Airplane! reference (that makes no connection that I can see), I'm way too dense to catch the connection.
Is it just me being dense, again?
I have a car with a very Radwood interior
My uncle's mustang 88 GT is red with red interior. Can't get better than that.

It was an airplane reference; Peter Graves makes reference to really wrong things...........80s car interiors fit in this category.......yet I like them.

I should also add......do you like living in the Mojave Desert and owning cars with black interiors?
It will hotter than a Turkish Prison in there.......thank God for the AC.
Theres a problem owning a car in the Mojave.
What is it?
It's a desert in the southwest United States...but that's not important right now.
In reply to Appleseed :
I remember the movie.
I remember the line.
Not getting the fox body connection.
Oh, well.
So go and look at an 85 interior, it looks like it is from the 70's. Best upgrade to the interior is to ditch the airbag and get an 89 pre-airbag wheel.
Great car, so glad to see it has a black interior.
In reply to akylekoz :
Yeah the 4 eye I just sold to Cotton has an interior that could easily be from the late 70s.....oh wait it pretty much was.
I spent quite a few hours behind that steering wheel...in our Aerostar!
