I'm not sure who started this idea, but a few people have now asked about chipping in together to buy an ad in the magazine.
And, well, after thinking it over for a bit, we decided "Hey, what's the worst that could happen! It's not like they're going to put some obscene thing in there that gets us sued by both the E36 M3-owning BMW Group and Berkeley College all at once...."
Even better, we'll place any ad(s) at a 50% discount off of rate card. That's basically our cost.
Here's a link to our current media kit. It has dates, prices, sizes, etc. in there. If you all really want to do this, and show your insanity to our broader readership, let me know and we'll make it happen.
One note: We don't really have a way to charge 100 different credit cards for an ad. 3-4 isn't a big deal, but more than that and we'll need to find another way.
So, uh, do you all actually want to do this?
Serious question, can my YouTube channel buy a classified ad space? It's not monetized or anything.

Of course! Shoot me an email (Tom@ThisWebsite)
I just wanted to say as a non media person, I love seeing these packets and the metrics of the audience. Interesting stuff!
This is crazy. I like it. Ads that really will pertain to me, because of, as PBS would say, "generous donations by viewers like you"
I'm in.Maybe sticky this? If it's more than three or four cards we could paypal to one of the donors and he/she could pay in full or something like that?
Oh god. The temptation to buy a full page ad of one of the ads from "Crazy People" is FAR too tempting.
Hmm.....an entire grassroots magazine with Interstellar Sledgehammer on every page.....
In reply to Antihero (Forum Supporter) :
I'm in for $50 towards that!
Looking at the headlines of future issues in your media kit site makes me happy...

That's great because it gives us MASSIVE anxiety.
"We promised WHAT?!?!?! WHEN?!?!??"
That's awesome collateral. Looking at the $2000 media kit, Team #16 made the only photo on Page 2!
(I *knew* the color scheme would work to our advantage somehow...)
Life without deadlines? What's the challenge in that?
Maybe you can incorporate some of Burt Levy's ideas into the magazine. He got quite creative with donations.
In reply to JG Pasterjak :
It gets worse, now all of those will have to be spun into "lockdown" versions of said articles.
"How to make your car faster on a budget...while on lockdown and unable to get parts"
"10 ways to make your daily driver into a race car, when your daily driver is an office chair you roll up and down the hall while on lockdown"
"Hot new budget steering wheels! ...for your sim racing rig so you can race while in lockdown"
"Top ten cheap cars for racing around the yard if you happen to have a big yard while in lockdown"
You do know we're now collectively thinking of obscene things to put in the advertisement, right?
I thought about this today.
This ad brought to you by XXX prescribers with YYYY cars. Want us to buy your car items? Advertise here too, or paticipate in the projects.
Or something like that.....

Like Carlin's Words You Can't Say On The Radio, but with forum filters.

You joke, but....I have 3 acres, which is _just_ enough to put a little dirt track on....and I have a bunch of rusty Volvos laying around...

I like how in your example all of us have at least 10 cars, on average.
