The remote for my Astro crapped out and it's not just the battery. I'm sure the stealership will give me a price I won't like and a programming fee, too. Dorman brand shows up on Google. Are they easy to program to the vehicle? Is this an idiot proof solution if I buy two of them?

if you look online.. there should be a procedure for reprogramming the remote.

the one for the E36 reminded me of a religious ceremony.. you all but faced the car to Munich and sacrificed a small animal

Like mad_machine said, you should be able to find instructions online. If not, call your local locksmith shop. Since you can go to the shop, it should be cheaper than him coming out.

Might also last less than a week, too. Dorman doesn't come into my shop.
